The Virtual Public Art Project: Philadelphia Opened October 15th 2010
The Virtual Public Art Project along with Breadboard and NextFab Studio is collaborating with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy and DesignPhiladelphia2010 to host the first VPAP exhibit in Philadelphia as part of Design Philadelphia 2010.
VPAP: Philadelphia will place eight virtual sculptures throughout the city. The works have been created by eight Philadelphia artists. Each artist had the opportunity to work in a medium that otherwise might be inaccessible to their practice. Some artists chose to re-create existing work, while others created new works using imagery from within the city.
The project will also include an informative multimedia exhibit at Breadboard’s Esther Klein Gallery (3600 Market Street) that introduces the Philadelphia community to the ideas and technology behind Augmented Reality.
